Hey there! I am currently at the Vancouver airport in CANADA. Wahoo! My homeland. I feel so home/country sick here. It just reminds me of all the wonderful things I love about Canada. And it sucks that I am at an airport and can't go out and do some adventuring.
I apologize in advance if this post is a little scattered. I am very sleep deprived and medicated (on dramamine and cold medicine). I haven't slept more than 7 hours in the last two days. My flight to LAX yesterday was at 9:00pm. I arrived in Los Angeles around 10:00pm. My awesome law school friend and her bf took me around the city a little bit. It was great! I really want to take some time and visit LA in the near future.
My flight this morning was at 7 so we left my friend's house around 4:50 am. I didn't sleep on the plane from LAX to Vancouver because they were showing a movie. And I have this tendency to not fall asleep during movies. Anyways, arrived in Canada, went through customs and shopped around a bit. I probably circled this international terminal about three times. Why? I was on a mission to find sweat pants.
So prior to my flight to LA, I was given mixed instructions. Some airline peeps said I would need to pick up my baggage at LAX and others said no. To be sure, I asked the guy when I checked in and he told me to pick up my bag and that it would not automatically be transferred to my next flight (the morning after). I waited for about twenty minutes at LAX but no bag! A lady at LAX said Air Canada picked up my bag and it was en route to Beijing. Crap! My change of clothes, pillow, toiletries, makeup etc. were all packed in my bag.
Sooo sorry to be gross but I am still in my work clothes from Friday. Which was yesterday, so that's not too bad I suppose. I'm wearing a skirt and a cardigan. Not exactly what I consider ideal international flying material but at least I have my flip flops. Going back to sweatpants - I knew there was a Roots store but found out it is located in the US terminal. Booo. So no sweatpants. However, I did just purchase timbits from Tim Horton's, a caramilk bar and Ketchup chips. Love!
Wow, this is seriously all over the place. I cannot think straight. So I think I will end.. but even though I had a minor set back re baggage, I am not letting it upset me. Optimistic thinking shall prevail. Wahoo! Interesting to note, there are a lot of Asians here. I haven't seen so many Asians in one place in awhile. I'm hearing Chinese, Japanese, and Korean frequently over the intercom. It's awesome. An elderly man also started speaking to me in a language that I couldn't really identify. I think maybe he thought I was Korean? Unsure.
Ok. The end.
P.S. I love all the Vancouver Canucks love here. I hope they win the Stanley Cup finals!
